Tom Brady explained his decision to come back in an Instagram post on Tuesday, detailing why he believes the team can be successful next season.

“I’m excited to be back for another year with the Bucs,” Brady wrote. “I believe in what we are doing here and I think we have a chance to be really successful.”

Brady also mentioned that he is motivated to win another Super Bowl with the Buccaneers, and that he feels he can still play at a high level.

“I still have a lot of football left in me and I’m looking forward to playing next season,” Brady said. “I want to try and help this team win another championship.”

Brady, who signed a one-year extension with the Buccaneers in March worth up to $50 million, revealed his thinking behind the decision during an interview on “The Howard Stern Show” that aired Wednesday.

“I wanted to come back and play for this team,” Brady said of the Buccaneers. “I wanted to come back and play for Coach (Bruce) Arians. I wanted to come back and play with these guys that I played with, and we had such a great year last year. … To not end it the way we wanted to end it, I just really wanted to get back out there on the field and see if we could do something special again.”

Brady, who will turn 44 in August, is coming off one of the best seasons of his career. He threw for 4,633 yards and 40 touchdowns with 12 interceptions in 2020, leading the Buccaneers to their first Super Bowl appearance since 2002.

Tampa Bay ultimately fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV, but Brady’s individual performance was enough to earn him his fifth Super Bowl MVP award.

The Buccaneers are coming off a disappointing 2021 season in which they failed to make the playoffs. However, with Brady back under center, they will be one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl next year.

Tom Brady will turn 44 years old next season, but he has shown no signs of slowing down. He is coming off a season in which he threw for 4,633 yards and 40 touchdowns. He also led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl win in 2020.

There is no doubt that Tom Brady is still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and with him leading the way, the Buccaneers will be a force to be reckoned with in 2023.
