Top-three main rivals for the Canadian team at World Cup 2022.
Here are the three biggest rivals in Canada’s World Cup group.
As the top-ranked team in Group B, Belgium will be the clear favourites to win the group and advance to the knockout rounds. The Red Devils are one of the world’s most talented and well-rounded teams, with star players like Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard, and Romelu Lukaku leading the way. They’re also coached by one of the best in the business in Roberto Martinez, who has done an excellent job of getting the most out of his star-studded squad.
Canada will have their work cut out for them in their opener against Belgium, but if they can pull off the upset, it would go a long way towards helping their chances of advancing.
Denmark are the second-ranked team in Group B, and while they may not have the same star power as Belgium, they’re still a very talented and dangerous team. The Danes have a strong core of experienced players, led by captain Simon Kjaer, and they also have a number of young talents like Andreas Christensen and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who are starting to make their mark on the international stage.
Denmark will be a tough opponent for Canada, but if the Canadians can match their intensity and discipline, they should be able to come away with a result.
Rounding out Group B is Switzerland, who are currently ranked 11th in the world. The Swiss have a number of experienced players like Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri, but they also have a number of up-and-coming talents like Breel Embolo and Denis Zakaria.
Switzerland are a tough team, but if Canada can take advantage of their speed and technical ability, they should be able to create some chances and come away with a result.
